MSNBC.com is reporting that Michael’s Jackson’s “This Is It” tour that he was rehearsing for before his death will go on in the form of a big-name celebrity tribute concert event. The show will happen sometime in September and will be a replica of what was planned for the “This Is It” tour in London. Madonna is rumored to be one of the high-profile replacements for the King of Pop since she was already slated to make a surprise appearance in one of his London show’s, side by side with Michael. (That would have been amazing.) Other celebrities that I predict will be involved; Justin Timberlake, Whitney Houston (maybe) and a grand-opening number by Janet Jackson.
In other MJ news, Billboard.com is reporting that Michael is poised to make chart history again next week since all of his albums have been flying off store shelves in the last few days after his death. According to the site, most of his “greatest hit’s” compilations are selling out so don’t be surprised if you see a few high MJ entries in this weeks Billboard album charts.
